I took a 4-person SMALL GROUP MAT class with Bernadette. Pilates has really helped me improve my balance, coordination, flexibility and range of motion. Not to mention the great effect it had on my posture. I used Pilates DVDs for several years, so I was familiar with the movements; however taking the class from a live instructor was such an improvement over a DVD! It was great to have an instructor tell me if I was doing things correctly or if I had to correct my body position. Just the smallest correction made a big difference in how effective an exercise was.
I really enjoyed Bernadette's teaching style. She demonstrates, explains, and cues us through each step. I was able to focus on the movements, which was very relaxing to me. Stretch bands and resistance rings were incorporated into our workouts. Using the rings for leg exercises really helped you feel your inner thighs.
I've taken MAT classes with Bernadette. I was pregnant and she helped me ease into pregnancy with her Pilates program. She provided me with
modified exercises and showed concern about my progress.
The classes have helped me strengthen my Core, improve my balance, and has reduced my stress. To keep it interesting & challenging, we also use equipment such as weights, bands, and balance balls.
I've taken both MAT and REFORMER classes with Bernadette. Pilates has made me more flexible and gets rid of the kinks, aches & pains. Resistance on the REFORMER can be increased to build your muscle strength. So I am feeling stronger. In MAT class, I particularly enjoy the workout on the big balance ball. Since Bernadette is flexible, she can work around my schedule. Pilates helps with posture (which we all struggle with) by strengthening the CORE and being reminded about shoulder and head position. Good posture and strong Core prevents injury on my job as a nurse, which is very physical.

Bernadette works with me on the REFORMER (the Pilates machine), adding another dimension to my Pilates workout. Her clear cues help me to adjust my body and make necessary corrections with ease. She has built a program specific to my
body and its needs. I enjoy the 1 on 1 private lesson experience, which allows me to
focus and concentrate on engaging the proper muscles for peak performance.
My Core is much improved, so I have flatter abs, increased muscle tone and strength. At age 68 I feel fit and more confident.

Pilates Delivered
Bernadette has enabled me to really concentrate on working Core muscles and it's exciting to watch the flexibility increase and the abdominal muscles gain strength as I fine-tune the process. After doing a posture analysis, Bernadette makes sure that the exercises that she chooses for me highlight what my body needs for proper posture. Pilates is not just about the Core...you work muscles all over...arms, legs, feet!

My experience with Bernadette has been both enjoyable and beneficial. She works within my limitation and yet I feel challenged. Having the full attention of the instructor to make sure my form is correct is important to me, so that I can get the full benefit of each exercise. Strengthening my CORE muscles makes me feel that my joints are being relieved from some of the stress. The concept of working through my Core carries over to other exercises and activities. Another really good thing I have noticed is that I seem to have more energy!
